This 5-day tour offers the perfect combination of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and a wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You'll encounter endangered mountain gorillas, enjoy a thrilling game drive to spot the Big Five, and take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, known for its large population of hippos, elephants, and diverse bird species.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Arrival: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met by your guide. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a brief tour of Kampala or head straight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive to Bwindi: Embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of Uganda’s countryside, passing tea plantations and local villages. Lunch Stop: Have lunch en route at a local restaurant or lodge. Arrival & Check-in: Arrive in Bwindi in the evening and check into your lodge or camp. Dinner & Overnight: Stay at a lodge or camp near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla Trekking Adventure: After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers on the gorilla trekking experience. Set off into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. One Hour with the Gorillas: Once you find the gorillas, you'll have an hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, play, and interact, an unforgettable wildlife encounter. Return to Lodge: After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and reflection on your gorilla trekking experience. Optional Cultural Visit: In the late afternoon, you can visit a nearby Batwa pygmy community to learn about their traditional way of life (extra cost). Dinner & Overnight: Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha Sector)

Morning Departure: After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Game Drive in Ishasha: Upon arrival in the Ishasha sector, enjoy a game drive in search of these unique lions, which are often seen resting in the branches of fig trees. Arrival & Check-in: Continue to your lodge or camp in Queen Elizabeth National Park and check-in. Relaxation & Dinner: Relax and enjoy the evening at your lodge, followed by dinner. Overnight: Stay at a lodge or camp inside or near Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 4: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning Game Drive: Start the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Explore the Kasenyi plains, which are home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and various antelope species. Return for Breakfast & Relaxation: After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast and some downtime. Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel: After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. During the cruise, you’ll see large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species, including pelicans and kingfishers. Dinner & Overnight: Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Entebbe

Morning Game Drive & Breakfast: Take one final early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot any wildlife you may have missed. Drive Back to Entebbe: After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive back to Entebbe, stopping for lunch en route. Optional Stop at the Equator: You can choose to make a brief stop at the Equator for photos and to shop for souvenirs. Evening Departure: Arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight or at your hotel.
